Recycling programs have become a valuable asset in establishing an environmentally conscious mindset for the general public. As an environmentally conscious waste hauler operating throughout the County of San Diego, Tayman Industries, Inc., has always been on the forefront of recycling in San Diego. Since 1994, we have grown from one of the largest glass recyclers in the County to one of the largest, independent franchised waste haulers in the City of San Diego.

On March 1, 2008, the City of San Diego implemented a recycling ordinance requiring Commercial and Industrial, Multi-Family Residential, and Single Family homes to establish a recycling program. Prior to the inception of the City’s Recycling Ordinance, Tayman Industries, Inc., has always recommended the establishment of recycling programs not only to reduce the costs of your monthly trash service, but also to provide relief to our landfills and ultimately assist in the preservation of the environment.


Commercial / Industrial Recycling Services

Tayman Industries, Inc., offers a wide variety of recycling services for Commercial/Industrial properties. All of our containers are used for SINGLE STREAM COMMINGLED RECYCLING, which means that our customers are able to recycle the following material in one single container: glass bottles, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, cardboard, mixed paper, phonebooks, magazines, junk mail, etc. Tayman Industries, Inc., also offers recycling carts for internal recycling use. Many customers have utilized these carts in office break rooms and warehouse space to encourage recycling.

Multi Family Residential Recycling Services

Tayman Industries can assist with the implementation and growth of the recycling program for your apartment or condominium community. We have found that many customers are able to recycle from 50-75% of the waste material generated by their apartment complex or condominium community. This usually reflects in a substantial reduction in monthly trash bills. All of our containers are used for SINGLE STREAM COMMINGLED RECYCLING, which means that our customers are able to recycle the following material in one single container: glass bottles, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, cardboard, mixed paper, phonebooks, magazines, junk mail, etc. Please contact us to discuss how we can customize a recycling program for you.

Single Family Homes

In addition to providing waste collection services for your single family home community association, Tayman Industries, Inc., offers recycling programs to help reduce the amount of waste generated by your community. With the addition of standardized automated carts, Tayman Industries, Inc., can provide a uniform aesthetically pleasing appearance to your community on trash day. Up to 75% of the waste material generated from your home can be recycled.

Bulk Item Appliances

Tayman Industries, Inc., offers the collection of bulk items for our existing customers. Many times these bulk items include appliances which are able to be recycled as opposed to being dumped at the landfill. Many of these appliances contain material that may be hazardous to the environment if dumped at the landfill.


AB 341

About AB 341

As of July 1, 2012, the state legislation of AB 341 took effect. AB-341 is designed to help meet California’s recycling goal of 75% by the year 2020. This law requires California commercial enterprises and public entities that generate four or more cubic yards per week of waste, and multi-family housing complexes with five or more units, to adopt recycling practices.

Benefits of AB 341

In addition to less material going into local landfills, AB-341 will also contribute to San Diego County’s economy. The Department of Resource Recycling estimates that local jurisdictions, schools, and businesses will save $40 million to $60 million per year from 2012-2020, due to lower recycling versus disposal costs. A higher volume of recyclables will also create manufacturing and recycling jobs and help contribute to California’s competitiveness.

    • Construction and Demolition Debris Recycling

    Tayman Industries, Inc., utilizes various San Diego area Construction and Demolition Recycling facilities which are able recycle up to 80% of the waste generated from your construction or home remodel projects.

    Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (L.E.E.D.) Projects

    Tayman Industries, Inc., is a active participant in the L.E.E.D. Program, which are the guidelines for building environmentally friendly “green” buildings. For all of our customers who are General Contractors and that are working on L.E.E.D. Projects, Tayman Industries, Inc., tracks all of the information necessary to complete the construction waste management portion of the L.E.E.D. Program. We will assist you in achieving your goal of recycling at least 75% of the waste material generated at your job-site.

    City of San Diego Recycle Deposit

    Tayman Industries Inc. will help to ensure that your project achieves its goal of at least a 50% diversion rate, which will guarantee that your recycle deposit is refunded. Tayman Industries Inc. will take the following measures to ensure your refund:
